PDM switch issue

We have hunted truck syndrome. Dash lights, radio, CB, blower motor going on and off when the key is not in the ignition.

Called Freightliner to see when we can get in. They diagnosed it as a PDM switch problem and said it would take having to sit in the body shop for a few days to dry out to see what was possibly burnt.

Question is there a faster way they can take care of it, 2 days out this time of year is bad real bad.

Are we just making a exorcism joke or are we also saying I'm SOL and you can't dry it out with an air hose or something and I'll have to sit for two days?

My guess would be that moisture that develops inside of some electrical parts would be an issue.

OK update.it's not the module nor wiring that that needs drying out that takes the time. it's redoing all the seals and joints that let the water leak in,in the first place that need several hours to cure(IE dry).

The part is in the column panel left side of cab behind the driver seat. The leak or leaks develop above that.

you can short the PDM out and take the key out of the truck and it will still continue to run.

I'll be lucky to get back in service soon enough to get a load for this week end going to be a real thin week I'm afraid.

the FYDA dealer near Washington,PA west of Pittsburgh

they wear able to pull the truck out last night so no problems there ,big convention in town leading to a Mary and Joesph syndrome and all, and i hope to be on the road by 2:30 -3:00 but it just being that late in the day makes run for the week end scarce.
