We paid to park last night and we considered it a fair trade.
There are many debates on paying to park a truck. Last night we stopped at a small truck stop for the night. We had no intention of buying any fuel or food from the truck stop. What we would do is use the restroom and take up a parking spot that someone might have wanted to park that was going to buy fuel and purchase a meal. The cost for our 24-hour parking spot was $10.00 or about .42 cents an hour.
This truck stop had paved parking, was quiet, and near where we wanted to be. The owners of the truck stop have to pay taxes on this prime piece of property and maintain the lot. It was cheaper than a hotel and we had everything we needed in the truck. The price was reasonable and deductible.
