past record felony

I put in an app on oe last week.I have gotten a few replies.some have been vage as to the felony/dui from 14 yrs ago.I have checked into getting cleard for canada I am just not sure if it is worth spending 1000k to only be turned down to go into canada.My question is this, dose having a felony from 14 yrs ago and not running canda do that felony/dui, limit me as to companys that will take me on with my own truck. The felony I recieved was do to an injury to the driver of the car I hit I also recieved a dui at the same time . I no longer drink do to what happend and I have not recieved a ticket or anything from that date on.I am thinking of buying a staight truck I have the cash and the reserves for slow times .I just do not want to spend that kind of money if my places to lease on are very limited do to my past.any info would help thanks bill

If you let us know the area where you live we may know of someone that will hire you although not necessarily in expediting . I was a supervisor for a company with branches in OH , IN , TN , and GA and had a couple of drivers a week take a day of to go to court or meet with their probation officer . There's a job somewhere for you .

You may be able to get the record expunged. After 14 years of good conduct you do have a viable basis for an appeal. Talk with a lawyer and see if there is the possibility of getting the felony reduced to a misdemeanor and then dropped/expunged. It shouldn't cost more then $3,000.00 to get it cleared. Depending on the Court's ruling, you may be required to reveal the felony to prospective employers but that should not be a hindrance.

40 years ago I stole a car. In January of this year the felony was reduced to a misdemeanor and expunged. I have all civil rights except the right to buy, posses or have access to a handgun. It cost me about 3k but now I can vote.

In some states you do not have all your civil rights so I'd look into this ASAP!
