Nobody has "a lot" of work for vans. If you are reading through the last several months of forums you'll see that vans are slow and there are too many of them signed on. Panther keeps straight trucks pretty busy. They do not do only automotive. Some of their work is auto but they have many other areas as well.

i drive for panther 2 in a sprinter van. i live in ionia mi, at home i sit on 3 boards, last year i never sat more then a day after signing in and was never ever higher then 5th out, today i am 7th out and it will take two days to get a 1st out, the only way it will be any quicker is if i take a crapp load that everyone else has turned down, such as to canada, or head north 150 miles for a 150 mile paid run, which has been turned down by everyone else. i turn down the crapp from get go, i refuse to deadhead 100% so therfore my acceptance ratio is down..therefore i am probably getting passed on the decent loads, however if i get out of michigan i usually do okay, last year this time i was averaging 2200 miles a week, this year, i am scraping bye, my partner in crime had 2000 miles paid last week but he deadheaded 1800 miles to get the paid miles, simply put, there is too many vans, i am seriously thinking of buying a straight truck, but many of the solo drivers i talk to with panther arnt making it either..it seems to be teams or nothing
