Oil Additives

A few weeks ago I asked about Synthectic Oils and the subject of Oil Add's came up. So I tried the Lucas Oil Stabilizer and am very pleased with the results. Added 25% Lucas as per instructions with the Rotella. These are the results so far.
Engine (Cummins) considerably quieter especially on startup.
Oil pressure increase of about 7 psi at 65MPH.
Engine was using or blowing by about 2 quarts every 6000 miles, 9000 miles since oil change and oil level down about 1/2 quart.
Temp may have dropped 5 degrees.
Just based on the noise reduction I feel it must have reduced friction
Change rear end and tranmission fluids every June going to put 25% in them also

Daughter is attending a private university this engine needs to go 4 more years

Well i can speak from past experience.I have been building and running race motors for about 12 years.I have used all kinds of oil additives.I tried the lucas oil stabilizer in a lot of my motors and had very good luck.I one small block chevy making 450hp with out nos and then we put the nos on it i ran probably 10 bottles full threw and 5 years later finally freshened up the lower end.The bearings showed very minimal ware. And if your wondring this motor has turned between 7500 and 8800 all its life.Im very happy with lucas and buy it buy the case. Its only $64.00 that way.Saves you some money

I have been recommending either the Lucas or STP oil treatment products for years, especially in older engines. They are both very similar stuff. They are sustainers- they make the oil stick to the engine parts. Very helpful in lessening dry start wear. If you have a high mile Cummins C or B engine, you notice the difference right away. Good stuff!

Well it works great in any motor.I run some in the motorcycle, lawn mower just read the directions on how much to add.On a 5qt oil system put 1 qt in.I use it for everything

Yes, they are great for the gas engines too- I use the STP in my old '78 Pontiac, and it purrs. I noticed right away its hydraulic lifters don't bleed down to the dry point when I don't start it for a few weeks. STP now has an oil treatment for new engines too, that works like the regular stuff- one bottle per change. The Lucas stuff at the truckstop is just about the same thing. Safe in all engines as far as I know.

Hey,
In response to your post about Lucas Oil Additive. Your spec's are about the same as one I had posted earlier. It will increase oil pressure by about 5-7 psi and also quiten down the engine a bunch.
Also have you ever heard of a Citgo brand engine oil called Mystik?
I use it it comes in several different weights(30,40,50,15-40,15-50)
I use the 15-50.With the Mystik & Lucas combo at 10,000 miles no perceivable oil comsumpsuntion has been detected. This combo works better to me than Rotella 15-40 because with the Rotella or a similar type I would loose about 1/2 gallon in 10,000 miles. Also to anyone else use the Lucas in any rotating assembly i.e. gas engines transmissions, rears, hubs. They make a varied assortment of products.
Hey I even use it in my air compressor in my shop & its older than dirt!!!! Jimmy
