Looking at getting into the trucking industry, but like anything you want a lot of info before taking the plunge. Live in Canada. If anyone out there has any information they wish to offer, it would be appreciated. Also spoke to one of these guys who charges a fee, helps you lease a truck and says they will get you guaranteed long term contracts with a company. Anyone have any comments they would like to share???

thanks for now.

There are a few companies offering these deals but in reality it would be wise to be wary. They may be able to help place you but this does not mean you'll make money or do enough to make a profit. Talk to the various companies out here doing expedite in Canada and going over the border and see who is hiring, what they're offering and also talk to their drivers so as to get the other side of the coin. Once armed then look into trucks to fit with the best choices of companies. Check out various truck dealers for pricing, specials and look at used units to start.

The lower your expenses the better as things are still tight in the industry. One month I'm up doing just ok and the next it's down a bit so barely scraping by. Freight movement isn't back up and pricing deals are quite abundant for shippers. The industry is recovering but not fast.
