Say I own the truck and want to run as a team with a non family member how would be the best way to pay the co driver thanks.

I did this twice and took two different approaches. One I paid 20% of loaded miles. The other I paid mileage pay for his drive time. That was not a big winner I will tell you that.

that was how i did it also...25% for all loaded miles....it seemed to be the least complicated way.

I just paid half of what was left over after expenses. I paid for evreything and took that off, what was left I split. It worked for me.

I hant had to do it ..but if I did I would treat both of you as a team working for someone else, and owner (you) was doing something like a 60/40 and drivers pays fuel and u would walk with 70% as it should be ..you incur all repairs.. Dont know ... so your question is mine

When I first started out I was a co-driver and I was paid 20% and the first seat/lead driver was paid 40% and he paid all the tolls,fuel and any other expenses.At 15% I always made 500.00 a week and sometimes on great weeks 750.00 to 900.00 with nothing to pay except for my own expenses for my self...
