Need info on workman's Comp

Im currently a owner operator running a Cargo Van For a Small Expedite company. Do I need workmans comp if im the owner and the only employee or - employer? Im currently in Kentucky and have been operating a little over a year and the company im running for has said that i need to get it on my own they could no longer afford it..*/

Check with the Kentucky labor board. If you are the only employee the state probably does not require you to have workmans comp. In Florida a employer has to carry workmans comp when he/she has over 4 employees.
Now your carrier may demand it to protect them in case of an injury you suffer when under their dispatch control.
