maintenance cost

Hi,I don't know some of the numbers I need.If I was in a fl80-3126 truck.I just need a approximate number for maintenance.Would 5,000.00 a year be a good number for regulare truck service?On avarage no big break downs.Thanks Jim

Well of course it depends on the miles you put on.I usually get one oil change and lube each month. That runs about $1800 or so a year. Other maintenance usually comes to about $2000 without tires so your $5k is realistic in my mind.I drive about 100,000 miles a year.I am also a conservative driver which probably helps.

On the other hand, you can easily drop $5k in one sitting without it being a big repair item (my new injectors comes to mind). It all comes down to how many miles you run, how well you maintain your truck, a good mechanic to look your truck over every time you come back in for any defects getting ready to happen, and a healthy dose of luck.

We started out setting $.10/mile aside for repairs, and so far this has worked well.
