Yupper back in 2006 about April time Frame my Co driver Vespa was driving and woke me up at that bridge yup a 13'6 tractor trailer will not make it under there. We were on a shippment straight through and it was at nite. Ya we know about that bridge Im glad Vespa stopped. would have been a nite mare.

We have a rail line that crosses State Route 19 Brockport NY, State route 237 Holley NY and even though there is PLENTY of signage drivers dont want to take the sigh for what its worth.
Ive heard the last few drivers blame it on thier G.P.S. but I still have to say it still falls on the driver.

Yes we S/T drivers all have a bridge with our names on it, Or in my case it was a low hanging wire accross a public highway due to a failed brackett and it sagged big time from 15 6 inches feet to 12 ft. To my suprise the DOT officer actualy took my side. But, were not talking a 1/2 inch cable were talking Rail Bridges The only exception is where there is no signage at all or untill you are beyond the point of no return.

In Dayton there is a Rairoad bridge thats clearly marked 13'9" BUT, there is a series of electrical wires on connectors that reduce that height a good 6 inches, I was headed thru there and noticed these and went to the other lane and under as they only hung on my side, after crossing under I took a picture, sent it to the DOT in that area and said HEY THIS IS WRONG...I went back that way a few months later and they had relocated the entire wire way......Blaming GPS is like saying yes Im stupid, I saw that train but the GPS said GO....amazing the number of rental trucks and such that get destroyed there, I wonder if the local Ryder/Penske rental houses post this and say DO NOT TRY THE BRIDGE...while they drive along chatting on the phone and get the steering wheel stripe and the seat bet bruises, OUCH....
