I have been in the expediting business since I was in college doing it part-time. I am considering doing this fulltime and would like to know if expedited carriers offer any type of assistance with first time business owners in selecting the right equipment or referring newbies to existing owners looking to get out of the business. And offer any help with newbies if our credit history is not the greatest?

Continue to browse the various forums and classified ads here on ExpeditersOnline. Every once in a while you will find a current owner-operator wishing to get out of the business, willing to help finance a van or straight truck.
Many carriers will accept an older vehicle (less cost) provided it is in good mechanical and cosmetic condition. There are other start-up costs to consider ... physical, drug screen, fuel and other operating money, etc...
