The turn signal lights on my 1998 FL70 have different light sockets for the front and back. The lights in the rear take an 1157 bulb - with offset node for the socket. However, the socket for the front does not take the offset bulbs, but rather has two nodes set parallel near the base of the lamp. In the past I have not had any success in finding the correct bulbs for the front and have been grinding off one of the nodes to force an 1157 to work. There is a problem with that in that the two elements in the bulb are different, the turn signal is much brighter (and hotter) that the running light. If installed incorrectly the turn signal element will be on instead of the running light, and can melt the housing inside the light fixture. However, I have been finally able to find the correct light (1176) at Pep Boys for $2.99 for two. Also, you can purchase Delvac 1300 15W 40 for $6.99 per gallon at Murray's.
