Joe Paterno - A Class Act.

For those that may not be aware - Last weekend 79 year old (soon to be 80) Joe Paterno was injured in a sideline collision during the Game between his Nittany Lions and the Wisconsin Badgers.

This morning JoePa underwent an 80 minute surgical procedure to repair a fractured shin bone and 2 torn ligaments. Traumatic to say the least , but this Iron Man is expected to coach on Saturday... not on his feet, but he'll be there.

Joe is a man that will be remembered one day not as the guy that did TV commercials or starred in movies. He's not looking to become the NFL's next big thing. He doesn't have shoes named after him, and I'm pretty sure he's not going to sign a huge sponsorship deal with Adidas any time soon.

Joe Paterno - I salute you.

All these Athletes today with the flashy clothes and shoes that are supposed to be role models (and often cry over a sprained finger or "turf toe") need to take a hard lesson from an old man in Pennsylvania. Your flashiness will fade with time, and you'll eventually just dwindle your way into the "used to be file".

Joe's got something called GUTS - and that will never go out of style.
