I see allot of little hotshot trucks running down the road all the time. I'm based in S. Georgia are there any terminals around here? I'm in a large car now leased to JL Transport.

Expediting companies dont use "terminals". Basically your home is your "terminal". Your subject was "how much"? How much to get started in the business? Depends on what you want.....van, truck?????

$50-$80 for a 24' "d" unit with a sleeper.
South Georgia is not the greatest base for expediting. It isn't as bad for a team, but as a single you will have a lot of deadhead in and out of south Georgia.
75 - 85% of my expedite loads are in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, New York, and Kentucky. I really don't know anything about them, but I understand that Nations Express is a southern expediter. You may also want to browse the Joe Roman forum.
