How many mpg can I get from a DETROIT engine tract

I saw a freightliner with a detroit 370hp engine with 150gallon tanks on both sides.How many miles do you guys think I can get (75% loaded and 25%deadhead)on a full tank which will cost around $820?
This is a double axle with 370 rears.
I am thinking on buying this truck?

It's pretty hard to speculate on what a specific truck might get for fuel mileage. As a tractor pulling a trailer this rig might be somewhere in the 5.5 to 7MPG area.

Are you going to use it as a tractor, or making a straight truck out of it? How much weight will you be hauling? Will you be running wherever dispatch sends you, or a dedicated route? What condition is the engine in?

There's lots of other variables to consider as well.

This wouldn't be for a dedicated run because it it is a 98.It also wouln't be a straight truck and yes I will be pulling anything on dispatch.The mileage is 745,933miles.I am not sure if this would tell you the condition of the motor or mpg.Can I get at least 1500 miles on a full tank?

300 gallons X 5MPG = 1500 miles

Why do you want to run out the full capacity before refueling?

Also, keep in mind that you probably won't be able to get a full 300 gallons into the tanks.....most are configured to allow about a 95% fill.

I run a Freightliner tractor with dual 130 gallon tanks and a Detroit 475 hp and often run over 1200 miles before refueling , have gone 1400 . Why run that far on a tank ? Because as often as possible I fuel in KY where fuel is cheapest or at the terminal .
I wouldn't buy a used truck with over 300,000 miles though . I have run tractors with over 600,000 but they were traded before 700,000 .
