We all know if we log sleeper it must be at least 8 hours plus another 2 sleeper or off duty . This other 2 would count against the daily 14 hour limit . But the 2 doesn't count against the 70 in 8 day limit does it ? If that is the case would it be advantageous to use even more than an additional 2 and extend your week even though you shorten your day ?

All your Hours driving counts towards your 70 hrs in 8 days. That's if your driving the 2 hrs.

Then why on your recap do you only enter hours driving and on duty not driving to figure hours available for the next day ? The 2 hours I was referring in to are the 2 which may be taken off duty or in the sleeper to be combined with the 8 required in the sleeper to total ten .

If you do a split and for the second part you sit at the t/s 4 hours then yes, you want that all on line 1 or 2 even though it reduces the 14. It's no different than if you are on a standard 10 hour break that extends past that. You only use line 3 or 4 when actually performing those functions to minimize the impact on your 60/70 hours.
