Has any one had any experence with the Co-Pilot Laptop GPS system. I just purchased it and like it but am wondering if there is a better truck system out there?

I have it and I alos have Microsoft Streets and Trips. If you do a search you will see this topic has had a lot of discussion. I just posted a week a go about which one I consider the best.

I much prefer MS&Ts. I have run them side by side on trips and MS&S has always beeen better. Read pasts POsts. Others agree and some disagree

I'm on Raceman's band wagon on the MS S&T program. I have not used the CoPilot program/system, but I've heard lots of comments about the speed of the updates, and lots of other "issues".

I'm running in a cargo van, and I use MS S&T on a laptop, and I love it. Works great everywhere I've been, and has been a great help in Canada.

**NOTE: Can CoPilot find a White Castles location for you, at 0200hrs when your craving 6 double cheese burgers and some onion chips? I think not!

Mike, Did you know some WC's are now serving French Onion Cheeseburgers? Oh Lord. Not to mention Apple Juice. Not sure which of those are going to put them over the top but its all good.

I have used CoPilot Truck Laptop4 for about 8 months, and I think it is a great "truck" GPS system. A 3 drop NYC trip with no glitches in routing (which included the need to make a construction detour and an accident detour) and no worries about restrictions, parkways, low clearance, etc.

I also have Streets and Trips on the same 'pooter, but for me, CoPilot gets the nod when the freight has to be delivered.

I'm trying to figure out why anyone would go to a White Castle on purpose. I did it once when I was in high school....that was enough for this incarnation.

I'm glad you've had different and better luck than I have. Far too often the address of the customer is not in the CPT database. It suggests alternatives or crossroads or other stuff that doesn't get you to the address you are looking for. In hundreds of lookups I've only had maybe 2 that weren't in S/T. I've also had CPT attempt to route me through curbs and medians when a road is split with about 100 yards between segments. I like it won't take you into low clearance areas but I've solved that by swearing off going to Purgatory, uh, Chicago ever again. It also has told me many times to take xxx south or yyy west when the actual direction is the opposite. CPT is a product that has great potential but lacks an adequate address database as well as up to date maps in too many areas.

LDB, thanks for reminding me. CoPilot has told me to go the opposite of what I should do. You know North instead of South kinda thing.
