I have been out of the industry for over 20yrs, and want to get back out there.
I know thing have changed ALOT in that many years, but give me some advice.
I live in northwest michigan, 49, married, 2 teenagers at home(both will be out of school in 5yrs), and unemployed at this time. I just sold an outdoor furniture business and have been some time with my kids before school starts.
I have talked to alot of OTR's and many have suggested Expediting instead of OTR. This may be a better way to get more home time and stay in a peticular area, but I know nothing about it.
How hard is it to get into?
Is it best to start with a truck box van or utility van?
What kind of pay am I looking at?
What kind of miles am I looking at.
Where are the best areas in Michigan to look for openings.
Any companies hiring on new expediters now?
