freightliner dash electrical

I have a 95 century classic.

In fuse panel have two fuses for instrument panel.

If both fuses are in everything works but the problem is the dash lights never shut off evne with truck shut down.
removing one fuse eliminates this problem but then when truck started no guages work unless headlights or parking lights are turned on.
Any suggestions would be great

not realy a help to your problem per sa but i don't think i have ever driven a freightliner that is dash lights worked the way they wear suppose to

Been about 20 years since the FL series came out...good to see some things never change....

Considering the age of the truck I would guess that a wire has ruubed the insulation off and is shorted out or against a hot wire. If this is the problem it could be expensive and time consumming to find. I would start with the dash light dimer control switch, unplug it and see what happens. Good Luck!!
