Hello I find myself almost 90% of the time driving empty to come back to canada.. from destinations as far as Oklahoma. Generally the most common cities to pick up anything coming back are like buffalo or perhaps detroit. if youre lucky. they pay more than 1 dollar per km for most runs which is still good but the dispatch is too busy with focusin on the work they have to go out and find new loads and get drivers freight to bring back. i would be happy to even outbid others and do the returning jobs for much cheaper as its still money. both for me and the company since i get paid 70% comission on each job. if they are not finding it for me i would like to know of some good resources of how i can legally find work to bring back.. and then i guess would have to refer to dispatch to finalize etc. i know theres like the u ship load board but that doesnt seem to be for commericial cargo van kinda stuff. because all our customers are basiscally in the brantford on to oshawa on corridor it has to be one of them having a pick up in the us they have no us based customers. even still. when its not busy they will send a guy from canada all the way to say Pennsylvania to pick up to bring back instead of giving it to the guy who is gonna pass it.. just to give everyone work. i know what youre thinking find a better company. but theyre good but for the long missions it would be the best company by far if there could be more connections. i know something can be done to improve my bottom line here.
