Canadian based Expediters!

We are in the research stages of doing a workshop in Ontario, possible the Mississauga area.

I'd like to hear your suggestions and ideas for topics.

As part of your research did you find out if other than Scott there any Canadians on here? Is their industry facing the same problems here of low volume and rates? Do they mostly run auto parts across the border?

Was wonderin' when you were going to get around to looking after your homies!

Are you thinking of doing this as a standalone workshop, or as a seminar in conjunction with an existing trade show?

I will be attending Truck World 2012 at the International centre in Mississauga on Thursday and I see nothing on the exhibitor/seminar/keynote speaker list that represents anything to do with expedite at all.

And although it's been a few years, the last time I was at Fergus there wasn't much expedite representation either. I think I recalled K-Dac having a truck there but that was about it.

Maybe it would be good exposure to consider doing this in concert with an existing trade show. Might be good exposure for Expeditersonline.ca as well.

Thanks for feedback - right now we are are planning a stand alone event - that might be larger than a typical US workshop since we are only having one event in Canada this year. In addition to carriers, we plan to have several suppliers and equipment dealers. I agree - we hope to bring some awareness of EO.ca!

The only thing on my wish list for the Canadian workshop would be the opportunity to speak to as many recruiters as possible.

Not only from Canadian companies, but U.S co's with Canadian authority as well.
I'm sure the U.S based carriers interested in building their Canadian fleet will no doubt be interested in becoming an exhibitor.

I would like to see some of the smaller Canadian carriers represented as well. Not going to name them here and I know you have the "master list" of canadian expediting companies and will be contacting them eventually anyways!

Anyhow, that is my wish!

In additon to the wish for a successfull workshop!
