Why is that when I put something in parenthesis in a post it doesn't appear in the post?

Are you using the actual parentheses ( ) or brackets the more sqare looking ones?
If using the 'sqared off' brackets, this board interprets that as HTML coding, and doesn't print it. Make sure you're using the 'rounded off' parentheses bracket.
