Deer Attacks

I was reading USA Today the other day and ran across a story about fatal deer attacks and aggressive deer in general. Apparently, deer attacks have claimed two lives in recent years. I hope stories like this will help people get over the Bambi image of deer. The fact is there are way too many deer out there and I hate that the front of trucks appears to be a major method of controlling the deer population.

I was driving through Pennsylvania the other day and I don't know if the deer carcass collectors were on strike or what but the shoulder of the highway looked like a scene from a deer slasher film. It was just gross to see one deer carcass after another, like mile marker signs.

One of the deer stories in the USA Today article was about a deer who jumped through a bank window and was running around the offices inside the bank. That's just ridiculous.

I suppose the real problem is that the natural predators of deer are also the natural predators of livestock and the danger to livestock causes all the populations of wolves, coyotes and big cats to be controlled.
