I have a question about a D-unit pay scale. Do you pay by weight or just by the load? I see in your Brochure D-units get $1.15 a mile. Is there a weight scale, that pays more than this? Just wondering ...Butch :) :) :)

Hey Butch - Our pay scale varies not only by weight but by volume as well. Our policy is to pass along whatever vehicle size is charged to the customer when they book the load. If a load weighs 200 pounds but is 8 skids it is still a d load by volume. If a load is 3 Skids but weighs 5500 lbs it is a D load as well. In order to keep our trucks moving we will also offer C loads to straight trucks - But if we offer you a C load you can be certain that a C load is what the customer is paying us for - nobody is dipping into your pocket.
Any load that weighs more than 13,000lbs is paid out at tractor rate, which is currently $1.65 per loaded mile.
Fuel surcharge is paid in addition to the flat rate and is adjusted weekly in accordance with the national average fuel price index. Fuel surcharge is paid to the truck at 100% of what we collect from the customer. You buy the fuel, You get the surcharge.
I hope this helps - Thanks, Scott
