Best Options For My Situation?

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and just recently started looking into the expediting business.

This is my current situation. I live in the middle (literally) of Ohio, I'm going through a divorce, I love driving, and finding a decent job is bleak. I just recently graduated with an associate's degree in Finance, too. I'm currently living with my parents again until I get back on my feet, so I don't have any rent obligations as of now. I see a lot of people here saying that night driving is more common with CV. I enjoy driving at night more than during the day, so that fits me. I don't have any experience driving for any company, and I don't have a CDL.

I have done a lot of looking through the forums, and I cannot find how I should go about this with no experience.

Do I need to go through some kind of training or get a CDL. I want to drive a CV or sprinter?

Thanks in advance.

First off Welcome to EO. You are on the right path if you have started reading the forums. There are lots of good information here and lots of good people. If your eventual goal is to drive a van, there are some companies that do not require a CDL (class c), but some do. Google getting a CDL in Ohio, you can self study for a CDL C; having one is a good idea, giving you more hiring options. You can take the driving portion in pretty much any van or P/U truck, or car for that matter. If you have a clean background, and you like studying and testing you should grab a hazmat once you have you Class C. Good luck.
