Another Good Carrier Dealer

Since having a Carrier reefer installed on our new truck in 2006, our reefer dealer of choice has been Crow's Truck Services in Memphis, TN. Crow's remains so today. Their service has been competent, friendly and fairly priced.

We know of one driver that says, "No one touches my reefer but Crow's." He lives near Memphis so that is an easy principle to maintain. We do not live near Memphis but to date, no one has touched our reefer but Crow's. When reefer PM and NIST certification was needed, the freight took us there or we went out of our way to get to Crow's.

Except for two problems that rose early after the install, the reefer has performed flawlessly. One was a defective filler neck onto which the radiator cap is placed. That was repaired under warranty. The other problem was more exotic. Also under warranty, Carrier flew two engineers and special equipment from its Georgia headquarters to Crow's to diagnose and repair the problem.

Since then, the unit has run like a dream and we don't want some unknown and unproven reefer dealer to screw it up. Thus our loyalty to Crow's. Yes, it would be nice if you could blindly trust any dealer to do any job. But just as you cannot do that with a truck of any brand, you cannot do it with a reefer either.

This time around, timing forced us to find another Carrier dealer. We avoided one we were near because of its poor reputation among expediters. Instead, we drove to Toledo to have the reefer serviced by Scott's Commercial Truck Services in Toledo, Ohio.

We found Scott's to be intimately familiar with FedEx Custom Critical's certification requirements and eager to go the extra mile with the paperwork. (The detail and accuracy required for NIST certification is enough to make a preacher cuss.) While doing the work, the technician discovered and repaired a voltage fluctuation that many others would have missed. That was a good catch by a conscientious technician.

One positive experience at one dealer one time does not a trend make. But we were favorably impressed by the people at Scott's and will happily return for service when the need arises.
