I just read a post that is simular to something that happenend to me about buying a used vehicle.
I bought a used truck and the owner was straight up with me and told me the truck was fine. Well, I had a major break down and discussed things about it with the previous owner. He said "as is when sold". So here I sat with an enourmus bill and had to pay and thank him for my newly acquiered debt. He honestly had no idea there were problems because he had less than 300,000 miles on it.
Checked with an attorney and he said you bought it as is and nothing I could do. Best advice I could give is pay extra and have a mechanic check the vehical out. All they can do is pull up info on ECM and go over things with a fine tooth comb. The motor can have the oil and other liquids checked but unless it is torn down and magna fluxed there is not much more you can do. Nobody can really give you a straight answer especially buying used equipment.
