A couple of (hopefully useful) safety tips

When you are driving in the morning or evening hours use your shadow when passing. If you are driving south in the morning and pass someone your shadow will be on their vehicle as long as you are next to them. When your shadow has gotten well clear of them your truck has also. If you are not driving due south then look at the shadow from your vent wing post to see what angle you need to adjust your observation to. In the afternoon it works when you are driving north. It's only good on clear days of course but better than nothing.

When you stop for the night and lock your doors you can then move your seats full forward and lower the armrests. This puts a major obstacle between anyone wanting to enter your truck and you. If someone was that intent on getting in you may have enough time to give them an extra whack or two with the tire billy while they are dodging your obstacle course.

You can also run your seatbelt through the door handles and it makes even more difficult for someone to get in. Thanks for getting us started LDB.raceman

The only time I might use my shadow is when I see the vehicle in front of me cast its shadow directly even with the end of the vehicle - otherwise, I developed the habbit in the big truck to always wait till I see both headlights in my mirror - that always leaves tons of room, especially for a D unit to move back over safely.

I always plan to leave plenty of room before I get back in the granny lane since more often than not - the person I'm passing is speeding up as I pass, and doesn't back off till they are well behind me.

I never plant myself in the fast lane, but I'm usually never in a too big of a rush to get back in the slow lane either.
