5.9 cummins

Does anyone know if this motor that is put in the fl70 is any different then one dodge puts in there trucks.....My brother in law has a Fl70 with 5.9 and the starter went out...and i get a discount at the local dodge dealer thanks

I checked with my local NAPA heavy parts department today and the FL70 B5.9 starter and the one for Dodge pickups with B.5 had different part numbers so I would have to say they are not interchangeable, but I don't have a clue as to what the differences are. May be size, wiring connectors, torque rating, gear, mounting, etc. The FL70 B5.9's oil pan also holds 5 more quarts than the Dodge pickup 5.9. I know the blocks are the same, but I think that is about where it ends.
