My brother Richard owned the Showboat for 24 years. If you did fat City during 75-80 , then you went to the Showboat. Remember the Tamales sold on the corners?

Started witha Garmin nuvi 660 , paying way way too much for it. Really wasnt all that happy with its performance. Sold that on off and bought the tomtom 720 at http://www.icraveit.com/cgi-bin/category/3100

720 page: http://www.icraveit.com/cgi-bin/category/3100

TomTom GO 720 Extra Wide Color GPS Navigation System Retail Price: $499.99
Our Price: $369.95
You Save: $130.04 (26%)

The main reason i went for tomtom is that it has the catz azz mapping software and its totally customizable thru windows. The community support for all things tontom is rather extensive and informative.

thought id share with you a pic of my new Pirogue. My brother and i built this in one day. Our father taught us and weve probably built 50 of them over the years.

Below is a pic of our backyard. A long way from the traffic of veterans hwy.

My new Pirogue with old mans seat. Daddy would roll over in his grave knowing we be adding sit up seats. The real hard core old timers would never add a seat.

Awesome hadn't seen one of those in awhile (1 day?) pops would be proud.
Showboat sounds familiar 1980 was my Fat City debut as far as the Tamales (roach coaches) I grew up on sacks of em (Manuels?).
Don't have to go far to put out some crawdad nets do ya?
I used to wade the swamps off of Airline with chicken necks hehehe
Thanks for the pics

You'd remember Showboat as it looked like a riverboat steamer with stacks and all. On the west side of N Arnoult just before 28th

Ahhhhh yes, Manuals with real corn husk till sum goober in Baton Rouge outlawed um and now must be rolled in dang waxy paper. A bag with 6-8 of um at 4AM, OMG...the best.

We git our share of "bugs", but last 2 years quantity/quality really hit n miss. We got off chicken and switched to Nutria pieces. Taught to knit nets at age 8. We put out 50+ during the good season.

One day you gotta drive down and well take you around "our world".
And if you ever looking to haul some decent paying LTL loads out of SW La , then i might just be able to help you with that also. Dirty azz'd drilling componets picking up in some nasty areas, but the pays good.

I'll look forward to it..
Will have to put on a pot of seafood gumbo, btw would kill for an oyster poboy right about now...
Haven't done any Speck fishing for awhile, will need to set up a double leader and drag in some 14" trout.
Break out the Zatarans and Tony's creole.

Wish I was back on the bayou,
rollin' with some Cajun Queen.
Wish that I were in a fast freight train
just a chooglin' on down to New Orleans.
Born on the Bayou...

Now that's some good music!
