Has anybody out there that drives a t 300 had this problem? I'm driving a 2004 with about 240K miles on it. The other day I pulled out of the parking lot I was in (empty),managed to get about 4 shifts in when there was a big bang and I lost all forward propulsion. At first I thought a u-joint went but they were all intact. Towed to a Peterbuilt Dealer. After they pulled the rearend out the problem was obvious. Three of the four end cap bolt heads had sheared off. this allowed the differential to shift away from the pinion gear. The dealer ruled out "driver abuse" said it was a part failure. Eaton has said not under warranty because warranty is two years (build date Oct 06 2003). I find it rather strange that a rearend gives out this easy.

Ouch; I have an 05 Pete 335, and no such problems. Seems someone at KW should give you some assistance. Try moving up the ladder past the dealer to the regional guy. Be persistent, you will reach someone. By the way, seems Eaton should warranty that anyway for quite a while. Check your warranty and contact Eaton...
