    Freightliner or Hino

Our Hino 2007 has 415k on her. She is on her 3rd turbo and we have replaced all the injectors. When we first got her we did run her hard, but for the last 2 1/2 years we've kept her at 60mph and she seems to like that better. The A/C is pitiful on hot humid days and the seats are HORRIBLE...

    Hino Brake Problems

Sorry it's taken me sooo long to get back with an answer...it's taken us this long to really find an answer. The brake shoe had a hairline crack in it. The mechanic said the tension spring on the brake was pulling the shoes out of alignment and that may have caused the crack. New shoes...

    Hino Brake Problems

Piper1, Thanks for all the information. While it's like a foreign language to me, my co-driver understands completely. He'll get that wheel off, give it a once over, and I'll post back what he finds. It's nice to have a website to post problems like this, especially with mechanics becoming...

    Hino Brake Problems

Also Piper... I did a poor job explaining the "packing with grease". Forgive my female brain, let me try again: The grease zerk between the s-cam and the slack adjuster has a Y in it. Grease is flowing back towards the slack aduster, but not towards the s-cam. The mechanic said the seal was...

    Hino Brake Problems

Piper1, Thanks for the info. We are worried about safety, but we're at a lose. We've had 3 set of different mechanics eyes on this problem. We had both driver and passenger brakes "clunking" in Oct '08. We took it to the Jacksonville, FL Rush. They replaced "slack adjusters & shims". The...

    Hino Brake Problems

Greg, I'm not mechanically savvy (I know enough to do a PTI), so I'll have my co-driver read this post. I know that he is getting all the grease zerks with hi-temp grease, but it sounds like the lubing and anti-seizing you are doing is above and beyond grease zerks.

    Hino Brake Problems

We have a 06 Hino 338. I've read all the post about "Hino Brake" problems, but I haven't seen our problem mentioned. Our driver's side brake is making a clunking/popping noise. We have replaced the slack adjusters twice. Our mechanic says "it's not taking the grease", he has to remove it...

Canada My last trip to Canada was my last trip to Canada

I'm also through with Canada. My last trip (literally) up there, they searched my laptop. My laptop contains personal emails, private photos, and our business spreadsheets. I understand the need to keep dangerous people and dangerous items out of our country...But really how does a few packs...

    How Obama Got Elected

I don't believe the video is trying to insinuate that these people are "stupid", they are uninformed. Media bias and a lack of interest are major causes of ignorance. Most ladies will not buy a handbag without knowing the designer, current fashion, and color trends; yet they won't spend 5...

A shocking video. How Obama Got Elected

    Stop It!

Cheri made an excellent point. Smart woman. :) Also, how many perks do we as truckers receive because of lobbying by Teamsters? Per Diem? I know these are tax breaks, not really redistribution, but it was made possible by a special interest group. FedEx's FSC redistribution was why we...

Sparticus - I've sent you a PM. I don't want to hijack the post. :)

    Wasn't going to work?

Thanks for the sites Jack_Berry, much more info than the Swedish site. Unemployment was higher than I expected 6.1%, literacy was 99%, migration was very low. Tennesee Hawk, I think you misunderstand, I am against socialism. Van Man made the point that not all socialist countries end up...

    Wasn't going to work?

Statistiska centralbyrån - Statistics Sweden is a central government authority for official statistics and other government statistics. Because 2008 is still in progress, many annual reports have not been posted yet. There are statics available on population break down by region, age...

    Wasn't going to work?

Yes, there are socialist contries that are doing "well". Sweden would be an example of this. I have not done the reasearch, but I am curious now, as to the numbers of people receiving government aide in Sweden. They have a population of highly educated and hard working people. Don't quote me...

    Present

Actually I'd perfer it they all just voted "present". When Congress actually passes something it makes me nervous. A Congress at a stand still can do no harm.

    Sos

While I am sad that Obama won, activism is not the answer. The Republican party and independent third parties need to be reformed to offer better options in the future. While McCain was a war hero, he was not the best pick for the Republican candidate. Republicans need to do better and find...

    Stop It!

Hmmm... Obama & Congress wasting tax dollar on education, healthcare, and such. Education - I was forced to go to public school because my dad had to pay taxes. He said "no private school as long as he was paying for public schools". I am dumber for having spent 12 years in that government...

    Stop It!

I don't like Obama's politics, but I don't believe he will be the ruin of the USA. America is a strong country, she has survived Bush's recent turn to socialism (steel tariffs, prescription drugs, and 700B bailout), she will survive Obama. I am concerned more by Congress than Obama...

    Vote White!

Vote white? Socialists come in all colors, shapes, and sizes. If the Republican party had a black conservative like Thomas Sowell running for President I'd vote for him. I dislike Obama's politics, not his color. As for me, I'm unhappy with the election out come, but America has spoken, and...
