Out of curiosity, what weight oil is recommended for these trucks? I have been using the chevron delo 5w40 synthetic in our trucks and changing it every 10k miles. We operate the trucks as rollback tow trucks.

Hey all, I have a 2014 Hino 258 and when it idles, the exhaust brake engages and stalls the truck out. If I keep the truck idled up with my foot on the accelerator, it is fine. But about 10 seconds after letting the truck sit at idle, the exhaust brake will engage and drag the rpms low enough...

I do have the DX2 software. I am in the process of putting the injectors in now, so maybe tuesday/wednesday I would be ready to adjust that exhaust brake. Thanks for the help!

How is the exhaust brake adjusted? I ask because I am about to replace all the injectors in one of my trucks.

I replaced the valves on both trucks, but after a couple days of driving the light is back on with the same code. You mention software updates...should I have a dealer see if there is updated software for these trucks? Thanks

I have two trucks with this same code in the DCU, P20B2 coolant shutoff valve malfunction. The trucks are a 2011 and 2013 258. Any ideas on where to start with these?

2014 Hino 258 with 141k miles. Setting code P140D burner misfire. This truck has had everything replaced according to the burner maintenance thread about 25k miles ago. Where to start with this? Just check all the items one by one as the diag steps would indicate? Thanks

Thanks, I did that and replaced the sensors. Finally came in and got the job done today (they were on back order according to the dealer). Cleared codes and none returned. When I monitor data, everything looks good until suddenly the exhaust temperature sensor dpr outlet starts reading -490°...

The are not ending in 540. I replaced both sensors in January of 2017 on this truck. I'll check for power, ground etc. at them. What about the egr code P1459? Can the egr valves be cleaned on these trucks? According to the manual on this code, its basically check wiring and replace egr valve. Is...

What are the chances of both NOx sensors failing at the same time? P1459 is an egr code, could a bad egr valve cause a false reading for the NOx sensors? This is on a 2013 Hino 258. Forgot to add that.
