Is it slow all over ???

Ahhhh hell, I don't know what cheap carriers are running for, it was just an example. LMAO.

Is it slow all over ???

I understand what you are saying, but If a carrier tells their O/O'S to be open to low pay and then their O/O'S are running for $.67 a mile (all ten units.) If that carrier wants to raise their rates to $.85 a mile I'm sure brokers and their customers might seek a carrier still running for a...

Is it slow all over ???

That is what you should expect, and I'm glad to see that your carrier has the same expectation. The thing that struck a nerve with me is a carrier telling an owner operator "it's slow so you have to run for low rates" which is a major red flag. Why? Because, if you take a load under your rate...

Is it slow all over ???

Honestly, if my carrier told me that I'd be better off getting my own authority if I wanted to run for bottom of the bag peanuts. When I see a carrier say something like that it shows that my business is not in the right partnership. SOME carriers still look at O/O'S like they are employees...

With as many sprinter vans on the market, I can guarantee that there are as many bottom feeders out here with big company signs on their van also. It's not just small companies driving rates into the ground.

    Solo or Teamed?

If it was more profitable, I would choose solo in a straight truck

I personally would never jump in a van, I'm content pulling my dry van, I'm just a dummy trying to make scene of an industry that I don't understand.

Makes sense, like I've said before it's their business. Honestly NEW van drivers who jump in and complain about low rates are just like McDonald's workers complaining about "poverty wages." Some are able to find something better but don't want to because the easy way is quicker. I'm in a...

Yeah, but how much is a CDL B $1,000? Maybe $3,000 if you go to driving school to learn how to drive the truck. Then they can work for a fleet owner and not have to pay expenses when the truck breaks, and probably make alot more than driving a raggedy van.

With all these vans sitting, and carriers not signing a lot of new van drivers on. How are new van drivers making it at all? Just my worthless opinion but, isn't it cheaper to get a class B and drive a straight truck then investing in a sprinter and not turning a profit for 2 or 3 years if they...

    Brokerage credit rating

I'm curious, if the owner of a brokerage has bad personal credit does that show up when doing a credit check? Or does only his business credit rating show up?

I'm not a sprinter driver but if it works out for him, that's his business. I know people in this industry are running for low rates, but that's in every sector tractor trailer, straight truck, and vans. We can all scream SAY NO TO CHEAP FREIGHT problem is not every person in this business will...
