    log question

Actually B, C, or D. In two cases you've exceeded the hours, unless under an exemption. If you drive 12 or 15 hrs you are required to log them. Not doing so is falsification. If you log 12 or 15 hrs driving you better get your rest.

    log question

The question said "can". With paper logs I could often drive 15-16 hours. I just couldn't log it. I once logged 34 out of 36 hrs, all driving or on duty. I put in the remarks that I wanted them to know what had to be done to get the job done. A VP actually came down and thanked me for my...

    New to expediting -company driver

There are a few owners that will make you an employee. Watch the classified ads. Your best bet is to contact your local post office and see if their " star route" carrier needs drivers. Often straight trucks, regular runs. Very good pay. Or , if near a big city, try the postal service itself.

A fellow truck hauler was telling me about his newer truck, a 2010 Volvo with an ISX, no def. He bought it at 488,000 miles. It used a gallon of oil every 5,000 miles. He changes the oil every 15,000 miles. 95,000 miles later he only uses a gallon every 10,000 miles. He thinks the previous...

Expediter Services for one truck fleet

I'd like to see some actual fuel prices, to compare to the FedEx price on any given day. Insurance: I saved money by leaving FedEx's program and going with CIS/Progressive two years ago. A friend went Progressive to Fedex's program and saved money last month. Moral: be constantly checking.

Yeah, eliminate cashiers so they can lower costs. I seldom go to Pilot/FJ so get back to me when you see those lower prices. :)
