I tried several times to get some LTL freight for my van (1-2 pallets). They (the brokers) were offering me irresistible prices, like $500 for a run from Carrizo Springs, TX to Miami, FL or even "better", $400 from LA to Chicago, just because it was LTL and they were not in rush...

It doesn't say too much... I met guys, american born with very american names, which changed their religion and names... Just as an example... this name, Cassius Clay tells you something? :D

Sometimes it takes even longer than 30 mins., if the p/u is for the next day...

True, but why Mr. Change didn't change that DIKTAT? I wish I say he loves it as well as the one who signed it, but we know it's not them the ones who arrange the "game"...

As much as I know, they can't access your plate number just like that, they must pull you over, then request an access to the state where you're from. My guess is they don't like TX plates. I have TX plates too, and believe it or not, as long as I was pulled over and searched, they didn't stop...

So far not too many on the road... when their price will drop to 25K for a 3500 hi-top, I'll consider it an alternative to my E-350, but til then, let 'em rotten in the dealership's backyard...

Well, let's start with the beginning... in GA the reason was the tag light out - pulled over, asked for permission to search. Since I had nothing to hide, it didn't bother me. In WI because my rear windows were covered and he stated that "in the state of WI it's illegal to cover the rear...

No, they just asked me if I let them search the van. It happened before in GA, KS, WI and NM, but they never messed up my stuff and the search didn't take more than 15-20 mins top.
