Implications of new 34 hour restart rule

They do, and I get the same answer I posted their is no way around the team split of 2 off and 8 in sleeper or the 1/2 hour on duty for watching loads. I talk to the head of that department every time I go to safety meeting during the truck shows or other BCO events.

Implications of new 34 hour restart rule

Read the new rules they allow the split sleeper berth for teams to be 2 off duty in the jump seat and eight hours in the sleeper, just as if a solo driver is doing the split. The 1/2 hour break for 1.1,1.2 and 1.3 is on duty, but you get to use that as your break. Nowhere, Ive seen does it...

Implications of new 34 hour restart rule

Phil, maybe you can show me in the regulations where the FMCSA has exempted carriers from the HOS rules for babysitting loads. If there is no exemption then the companies are allowing drivers to falsify their logs. I've never read anything in the rules that allows the co driver to leave the...

Implications of new 34 hour restart rule

Under the old 11/14 hour rule there was NO way a driver could come out of the sleeper to babysit the load while the driver was away from the vehicle and not be on duty. Period. Even with the new rule the same applies except if the driver takes the 30 minute break in the cab of the truck. If at...

    Unloading Rules

You don't have to buy one, I was just posting a simple fix to the problem of customers not pulling the second or third pallet. Here's my question to you, What if all the major shippers and receivers refuse to pull the pallets to the rear or push them forward, what will you do? Most of the...

    Unloading Rules

If companies refuse to pull the load back then you have to find a way to pull the load to the rearof the van and hooking to a pole or a tree could be trouble also. You can damage the vehicle, plus in the long run could cause damage to the shocks and springs. let alone the extra torque on the...

You forget things like you have to fuel go to the bathroom, eat, take a shower and the list goes on and on. Heck how do you do it now, because you would have to be cheating already when ever you do any of the above during a run.

Implications of new 34 hour restart rule

Phil, don't you take a lunch break, if you do, what's the big deal. Take the darn thing at the 6 or 7 hour mark from when you started your day, log it and be on your way. This time I don't see the courts overturning the rule, I could be wrong, but I have a 50/50 chance of being right.

Was trying to figure out the 70 hours 5 days. I guess he logged off duty as on duty to get those numbers. I like the cigarette banner you have, for me it's been something like 20 years since I quit. Just think, save that money in a separate bank account for a year and what a vacation you and...
