I also have a 3 stage battery charger plugged into my battery bank that runs automatically anytime that my generator is running. It also has a desulfurization function. Not sure if that's automatic or if that needs to be done manually. Will need to read the owners manual. And Turtle, when...

On my Transit I just used a simple cheap battery isolator with a toggle switch. Cable from starting battery to isolator, then cable from isolator to house battery bank.
