Moot, pushing me to get rid of two good drivers in such a short time, while they stole another driver from my fleet, how do you call that?

It's better than leaving empty, but someone made big bucks out of that run while you just left Laredo... as other guys told you on this thread, when you go to Laredo ask for more moolah to cover your next low pay return trip...

Are you sure that it says only 2000 lbs? Just asking because a friend of mine had a 2003 E-250 and the payload was somewhere close to 3000. And once, with the same van he hauled a 4700 lbs load from TX to OH...

Not all of them left my vehicles. Two of them left, one was pushed to leave, but I moved the truck to a different carrier, while the last one they said they don't trust him anymore and they recommended me to let him go. Yet, all these three drivers are still driving for the same carrier, either...

I've been with this carrier for quite a while now, things were ok, not the best nor the worst. Then something happened. First they "stole" one of my drivers, putting him with a different fleet owner. Of course that implied abandoning my truck in a Mickey D parking lot. All what I got was a text...

What if the carrier tries to push to bankruptcy that fleet owner?

Well, for the percentage they pay you, they should pay for that. Also, if you're an employee and not an independent contractor, I'm pretty sure that it's mandatory for the employer to provide the workers comp. (or occupational), unless they're from Texas (TX is the only state where is not mandatory)

I totally agree with you, and I'm sure that many others do too... maybe years ago the QC was somewhat helpful, but nowadays with all the new tech and smartphones, it's more like a scam, a tool for carriers to get some extra money from the drivers.

Well, in that case isn't that bad, if you don't have to pay for anything. Yet, I'd rather go for 1099 than 1040...

Kinda ridiculous 800-1600 miles per week for a team... you better try to drive a cargo van, for sure you'll get at least 1800 miles/wk driving solo...

I don't know if I should say that sucks big time or that we're lucky for not being in Europe, where almost every E.U. country has toll freeways. I went once to Paris and from the Luxembourg border to Paris I paid almost as much I paid for the fuel. And I was driving just a regular car...

I had my son driving for me, he was 22 at that time and they never increased the policy's rate...
