    PM budget for a CV/Sprinter

I just Googled the 2009 Sprinter. Seems they did make the critter, or at least that's what the rumors at Google tell me. 2009 Sprinter

Get that Fuel Ticket - TA/Petro

I haven't redeemed my Speedway points yet, I'll have to see what I can get. As of this afternoon when I filled up, I have nearly 19,000 points, so it must be good for something. Note that those points have built up over quite some time (as in "a few years") and to my knowledge haven't...

    Pay raises for Congress? Really?

I've been thinking a trip out of town on a rail, dressed in tar and feathers would be more in keeping-- for BOTH parties. We put these guys in charge of our nation's budget and so help me, I wouldn't trust them with my piggy bank.

    Too many vans!

I'm trying to figure out who guaranteed 1500 miles a week. That would be great if it could happen, but the facts are quite a bit different. Some weeks you make a killing, other weeks you get killed. It's part of the business cycle, and it doesn't matter what size vehicle you drive. A word about...

Get that Fuel Ticket - TA/Petro

Frankly, I've about written off TA/Petro as bad business. However, this thread did serve to remind me that it is time to print out my I-Pass reports for 2012, so it does serve that purpose.

    Driving Record question

In the meantime, may I suggest slowing down and paying attention to signs? That many speeding tickets and blowing off stop sign points causes trouble for a reason, and if you rack up enough of them not being able to sign on with a carrier will be the least of your worries. Your insurance carrier...

What if ...... no-one had conquered any nation

If women ruled you think it would be more peaceful--- Ahab and Jezebel. Ahab wasn't much good, but for real evil you have to look to Jezebel. She was something else. Way back in the 1500s, consider Queen Elizabeth. She was no slouch when it came to taking property and so on from another...

    PM budget for a CV/Sprinter

These machines list for, what? 50,000 new? For that kind of scratch for a new vehicle, I'd like to have some assurance that it won't cost me the price of another new vehicle every 40,000 miles. Plus the cost of downtime while the geniuses guess what might be wrong ON MY DIME. If they're just...

Got the def system repair solution from this previous post

You have to be rich to begin with to own a Sprinter. If you're rich enough to own and maintain one, then you're probably doing Expedited as a hobby anyway.

    The New Scarlet Letter?

Maybe the right gets defended through blogs. Wonderful thing, this Internet that Al Gore said he invented. See here, now!

    Pistol packing teachers

Now ya gone and done it. You made me look up an old 78 (remember those?) about a pistol-packing mama. This thread title made me remember that old song. Enjoy.

    Sprinter vs Cargo van?

Once you dump the silly notion of trying to expedite in these things, the waterbed goes from being unnecessarily heavy to being doggone comfortable. When SWMB* is with you, you can experience Victory At Sea, too--- what's not to like. *She Who Must Be Obeyed.

    Obama's guns.

After my last go-around, I just about swore that I would never again start a thread in the Soapbox. In fact, I kinda remember swearing about it for several days, and I'm a good Pentecostal Christian who isn't supposed to be using that kind of language. However, this one is too good to leave...

    Eleven Million $

I have a back-up beeper on my van. It's quite loud, there's no mistaking it. I have ample evidence that people pay no attention whatsoever to it, and more than once I've had to hit the brakes as someone walked right behind my moving, beeping van. Oh, man--- people pay no attention to a TRAIN...

    The New Scarlet Letter?

This is where memory comes into play. There was quite a fuss about that time, the LGBT community was demanding that this type of information be made private so it couldn't be used to stigmatize them. I don't think it was all that easy to get health information before then, but after the law was...

    The New Scarlet Letter?

Re: New York paper publishes names of gun owners with interactive map Over on another forum I'm a member of, one of the posters asked if health information could be made public in this way. The answer to that is "no". HIPAA laws make it illegal for the paper to dig for your health information...

    Sprinter vs Cargo van?

Maybe the rest of us should stand by to pick up the pieces. You might get by a few pounds over, but--- there's a reason for that sticker being there. Stay within that sticker and you're in "safe" territory, go beyond it and you're eating up your safety margin really fast. Your suspension has to...

    Sprinter vs Cargo van?

Well, Turtle, I think you're driving something a bit beefier than a 2500 anyhow. All those goodies and you still get 2600 lbs--- that suggests you're driving a 3500 series van. I've been thinking a bit about the printer/scanner/copier, and wondering what would work in a van. A lot of those...

E350 CV bunks: What's working for you?

One really good reason for getting the extended vans when you buy: You have that extra room for your bunk and still able to get two skids on. It's only 18 inches or so, but that extra 18 inches is huge when you don't have it in a standard van.
