It’s possible. As a hobby, part time. As a business, no. Some guys can’t profit with a Sprinter leased to a carrier.

    I Need Another Perspective

I would expect the carrier to return the 145 lb crate at his expense, unless the shipper would allow us to deliver somewhere that could benefit some of us involved. Not only would I expect the 145 lbs returned, I’d say apologies were in order. The weird part for me is why you’re loading these...

    Running overloaded

It’s a catch 22. We want the unscrupulous to be caught, but don’t watch us Honest folks. Kind of similar to the ELD argument. I always ran legal, but can’t function on an ELD.

    Running overloaded

Every time a shipper or broker gets 3500/4000 into a van, the closer it gets to being the norm. Seriously, how often do people get caught ? They should, they don’t. Right now there’s enough freight for everyone. My fear would be the next slowdown. Who’ll get loaded then ?

    Running overloaded

I can see brokers selling a straight truck load and trying to get a Sprinter to take it for a few cents extra over a Sprinter rate. Cha Ching !!!! The line between a van and a straight is only blurred by 4-6 pallet Sprinters.

    Mechanical Cummins ISB 6.7 Knock/Clatter?

Less than $200 at Zoro.com under instruments I believe. I bought it to detect inaudible air leaks. UTube...

If I had one a few years old, I might attempt to be proactive at my next windshield change. Have time and do it at/near a suitable body shop. A stitch in time saves nine.

    Portable Gas tank

I would think secure, away from sparks, where it can’t move or be struck by something that would cause a leak would be good. I’d feel better mounted fully enclosed somewhere. Easy to put in a belly box since you are in a straight truck. And regardless if legal or not, it may cause concern if...

My assumption is Uber makes sure they’re properly insured. Uber has more at stake than some bozo with a handful of cubes and inadequate insurance. Really surprised the industry allows me to do for hire stuff on my normal insurance policy. Not me, but your typical Uber driver.
