The aluminum oil pan on my Freightliner has stripped threads on the plug. The mechanic wants an arm and a leg to replace the pan. When I asked why cant it be rethreaded he said that because it is aluminum it is better to replace it with a new pan. My question is, is this the truth? I have never...
