Yeah...I know that. So, how ya gonna log it when the new rules require a 30 minute break in 8 hours? If your co-driver is off duty sleeping and you go off duty to take the dot required break...who is guarding the load? That's the entire point of this thread.

I didn't. I'm in a van. From what I've seen, any small aero changes will show up in a van more so than a truck.

Mud dude is correct..I believe. If they log off duty they cannot, technically, be watching the load. If they log on duty-not driving, they don't get the required 30 minute break on their log book. It is a technicality, but is a legitimate concern. It is something that should be addressed by...

I like the new cars. I think the drivers like them and that's going to make the races better. The 500 could be a wreckfest until they learn the aero characteristics of the new cars. Denny Hamlin has an interview on Nascar.com that explains the challenges they face.

I have a rooftop. I like it because its out of the way, push a button and its running. But, the other options are generally cheaper and lighter. I wouldn't argue a point on any of them. The rooftop creates a lot of wind noise. The fan just has a lot of air to push through a small area...

Looks like it's about passed over up there too. Ice worries me. The storm in '09 was tough down here.

If only there was such a thing. The a/c is the tough part. Heating a vehicle is easy. Get an Espar..or equivalent. It's just not that simple with a/c. There are many variations of getting an a/c in or on the vehicle...then ya gotta power it. You'll need a generator for that.

I see 3 problems to the power deck. You have the loss of height and loss of payload. My biggest concern is that I like my etrack in the floor and I don't see anything on the power deck for securement.

The ice is almost past here now. So far, so good (knocking on wood). It looks like MO, IL, IN may get the worst of it...depending on their temps. I saw once forecast calling for an inch of sleet/ice in the STL area. THAT could be disastrous if it does happen. The lights flickered here a few...
