FedEx Sues U.S.

FedEx sues U.S. seeking full refund of Trump tariffs days after Supreme Court ruling

If tariffs are paid by foreign countries or exporters, why is American company Fed Ex suing the Trump administration to obtain a refund?

"Federal Express on Monday sued the U.S. government, seeking a “full refund” of the money the shipping giant paid for tariffs unilaterally imposed last year by President Donald Trump, which the Supreme Court last week ruled were illegal." (Source)

Answer: Trump lied when he told the American people that foreigners pay tariffs. The truth is Americans pay this import tax. The Supreme Court ruled these taxes illegal because no president has the power to unilaterally impose a tax on Americans. When Trump tried to do so, he brought one of the largest tax increases in American history down on the American people.

Trump could and should refund this money to those who paid it immediately. The government obtained this money illegally and they have no right to keep it. They know exactly who paid it, when, and in what amounts. It would be a simple matter to issue the checks right now.

For Trump, This Tariff Business is Getting Really Bad, Really Big, Really Fast
  • The US Supreme Court ruled Trump's tariffs illegal.
  • US businesses are suing the Trump administration to recover the money Trump illegally took from them.
  • On behalf of their citizens, US governors are suing the Trump administration to recover the money Trump illegally took from them.
  • International trading partners (foreign countries) who negotiated good-faith deals with Trump are saying the deals are off.
  • International rivals who were punished by Trump are gleeful as they now have a better deal than many that negotiated.
  • 2025 year-end data shows that Trump's tariffs and the trade wars they sparked did NOTHING to shrink the size of the US trade deficit.
Billions -- not millions, billions -- of people worldwide are looking at Trump and wondering what's up with any of this?

Joe Rogan, who has grown increasingly critical of Trump expressed the sentiment well: "I’m lying there at 2:00 in the morning thinking about these ICE raids and the $2,000 checks that aren't coming... it's just a constant state of 'what the hell is happening?'"

Rogan also said, "I literally can't wind down at night anymore because it's just madness. Every time you pick up your phone, it's a new level of insanity. It's like the world is being rewritten every six hours."

There is no recovering from this. Trump can't ...

...Truth-Social-post his way out.
...Sue his way out.
...Threaten his way out.
...Lie his way out.
...Poll his way out.
...Condemn-the-media his way out.
...Insult his way out.
...Appeal his way out.
...Intimate his way out by hitting Republican incumbents endorsed primary challengers
...Distract his way out.
...Grope his way out.
...Rally his way out.
...Fear-monger his way out
...Fire his way out.
...ICE-surge his way out
...Claim new-tariff-authority his way out
...Buy his way out.
...Military strike his way out
...Golf his way out.

The whole world is watching and Trump stands exposed. They don't see leadership. They see lunacy, in every sense of the word.

Trump's State of the Union Address

Trump will give his State of the Union Address this evening. With the Supreme Court reducing his signature tariff policies to shambles, his job-approval polling in the toilet, a strong majority of Americans voicing dissatisfaction with the economy, Republican (and others) rage about the Epstein files coverup, Republican (and others) strongly voiced disapproval of Trump's immigration practices, and Trump's habitual rage-tweet behavior, tonight's speech is going to be less about the state of the union and more about the state of Trump's mind.

Will we see Trump put on a spectacular dementia-driven sundown display, or will he hold it together just enough to follow the teleprompter?

Interesting: Joe Rogan, a supporter of socialist Bernie Sanders who left California forTexas because of oppressive policies and high taxes has thoughts.
Talk is cheap now. When he had the opportunity he left the high tax state and leftist policies behind.

In tradition of the petulant Dems, they’ve chosen to abandon decorum and not show up for the SOTU. (Republicans showed up in mass for Obama and Biden.)
Trump should disregard the Dem naysayers who have their pompoms out hoping the economy tanks. Instead he can talk about the great progress he’s made and the tremendous economy that is right around the corner. Led by lower taxes and low inflation. A secure border, and energy production that is skyrocketing. Many accomplishments to talk about.

DJT Stock Soars

Trump Media & Technology Group shares closed up 6.73% today, ending the session at $10.63. The stock outperformed the broader market rally, fueled by a combination of political and strategic catalysts.

That's impressive. 6.73% in just one day and outperforming the broader market too. Whoo Hoo!!!!

Also impressive is the fact that the stock is coming off its all-time low of $9.89. At its initial public offering in Oct. 2021, the price was $12.73. As you can see from the chart, the stock has had its occasional peaks. But overall, at this morning's open, there was not a single shareholde -- not one -- who purchased Trump's stock at any time on the open market who was in the money.

The story is quite different for Trump himself and his insider buddies. They have pocket millions of dollars that were served up by the retail shareholders Trump duped.

Not to worry, though. Keep the faith. This stock's resurrection is just around the corner.

On the other hand, The Democrat response Was just as favorable for Trump

1-Is the president working to make life more affordable for you and your family?
2-Is the president working to keep Americans safe, both at home and abroad?
3-Is the president working for you?

He made strong arguments for Yes answers to all 3 questions. Democrats can only hope that most of the audience had turned off the TV and gone to bed by the time she came on.

The state of the union address fades with the next news cycle. A fun moment of cheer leading by the party in power. An opportunity for attention grabbing plays by the opposition, a day of spin by both parties, then on to the nest headline.

The good news for Trump is he got through the speech without making things worse for himself. That surprised me a bit. I was expecting him to make news with an unanticipated blunder or a sundowner moment. That did not happen.

It was the usual collection of boasts (some justified) and lies (never the right thing to do). Fact checking organizations identified 34-40 false or misleading statements, depending on how the statements are characterized. That's typical of a Trump speech. He was in true (pun intended) form.

The Russia-Ukraine War

As of this week, the Russia-Ukraine war has been ongoing for four years.

Trump on the war:

May 28, 2023: "If I'm president, I will have that war settled in one day, 24 hours. I'll meet with Putin, I'll meet with Zelensky. They both have strengths and they both have weaknesses. And within 24 hours, that war will be settled. It'll be over."

March 4, 2023: "Before I even arrive at the Oval Office, I will have the disastrous war between Russia and Ukraine settled. It will be settled quickly... I will get it solved in rapid order and it will take me no longer than one day."

Okay, MAGA. You don’t want us to think you’re a bunch of mindless, brainwashed sheep who believe anything Donald Trump tells you. Please defend this:

Donald Trump, June 2025: “Iran’s key nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated.”

The media then reported that initial U.S. intelligence assessments contradicted that message, saying Iran's nuclear program had only been set back a few months.

Donald Trump’s social media post following those reports: “FAKE NEWS CNN, together with the failing New York Times, have teamed up in an attempt to demean one of the most successful military strikes in history. The nuclear sites in Iran are completely destroyed! Both the Times and CNN are getting slammed by the public!”

Additionally, Trump called for a reporter to be fired, and a high-ranking member of U.S. intelligence was removed from his post after a report questioned the extent of the damage from the strikes Trump claimed had “totally obliterated” Iran’s nuclear enrichment facilities.

Now let’s fast forward to a February 22, 2026 interview Steve Witkoff gave to Lara Trump on Fox News:

Steve Witkoff, U.S. special envoy on Iran: “They’re [Iran] probably a week away from having industrial-grade, bomb-making material, and that’s really dangerous. So, we can’t have that.”

Wait a minute — less than a year ago, Trump said Iran's nuclear capabilities were “totally obliterated.” Hell, he said the same thing during his State of the Union address.

Yet here we have one of the key people working for him on Iran, just a few months later, essentially confirming that the initial intelligence reports from last summer — saying the strikes only set Iran back a “few months” — that Trump called “FAKE” and fired someone for reporting… seem to have been accurate.

Meanwhile, his stance that Iran’s nuclear capabilities were “totally obliterated” was complete :censoredsign:.

This is why so many of us think you’re members of a cult. What your dear leader says doesn’t even have to align with the reality of his administration’s actions or with what the people he’s put in charge of these situations are saying, yet you always believe him when he cries “FAKE NEWS!” anytime something factual is reported that he doesn’t want people to know.

And you never hold him accountable. All you do is deflect, defend, avoid, or make excuses.

So don’t complain whenever someone on the left says Trump supporters are ignorant or stupid. Why should they think anything different when Donald Trump blatantly treats you like you’re ignorant or stupid — and all you do is cheer and support him even more?

Trump and War

Trump partnered with Israel to start a war with Iran last night. Per Trump's own words, this is not a raid or a strike. It is a war and ongoing action is anticipated. Trump warned that American fighters may be be killed or wounded in this war.

During and after the 2024 campaign, Trump said things like this to get the American people to vote for and support him:

"We believe that the job of the United States military is not to wage endless regime change wars around the globe... the job of the United States military is to defend America from attack and invasion here at home." — May 2024 (Libertarian National Convention)

"They said 'he will start a war.' I’m not going to start a war, I’m going to stop the wars." — November 6, 2024 (Victory Speech)

"We will measure our success not only by the battles we win, but also by the wars that we end, and perhaps most importantly, the wars we never get into." — January 20, 2025 (Inaugural Address)

Conclusion:
Donald Trump's word is not worth a split turd.

Now America is in the Insurance Business?

Trump on Truth Social, 3/3/16

"Effective IMMEDIATELY, I have ordered the United States Development Finance Corporation (DFC) to provide, at a very reasonable price, political risk insurance and guarantees for the Financial Security of ALL Maritime Trade, especially Energy, traveling through the Gulf. This will be available to all Shipping Lines."

When Trump made his America First remarks on Inauguration Day, I missed the part where he said he would make sure shipping companies in Panama, Japan, Brazil, and everywhere else would get sweet insurance deals funded by US taxpayers.

It's a good thing for Trump that the US has no budget, and no spending checks and balances, and no fiscal accountability required of the executive branch ... Oops! check that. I think it is written somewhere that the US actually does have a budget, and spending checks and balances, and fiscal accountability required of the executive branch.

Iran Says to Trump, "Yes! Yes! Yes! Please Do This."

Trump on Truth Social, 3/3/16

"If necessary, the United States Navy will begin escorting tankers through the Strait of Hormuz, as soon as possible. No matter what, the United States will ensure the FREE FLOW of ENERGY to the WORLD. The United States' ECONOMIC and MILITARY MIGHT is the GREATEST ON EARTH — More actions to come. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"

The Strait is only 21 miles wide at its narrowest point. This places every U.S. destroyer within easy range of Iran’s entire arsenal. This means:
  • Reaction Time: Naval officers have seconds, not minutes, to respond to incoming fire.
  • Mobile Launchers: Iran utilizes "truck-mounted" cruise missiles and drones that are hidden in coastal caves or disguised as civilian vehicles, making them nearly impossible to "pre-emptively" destroy.
  • Swarm Tactics: A single destroyer can intercept 15 or 20 missiles, but it cannot simultaneously manage a swarm of 50 suicide drones, 20 fast-attack boats, and a field of smart mines.
Imagine America's joy when a multi-billion dollar warship is lost to a swarm of $20,000 drones while trying to protect a commercial tanker.
