Not only will changing to a good synthetic fluid increase milage and cold weather lubrication, dropping the cover gives you a chance to inspect the internal parts of the differential.

I've had propane fridges and heaters in a camper and driven propane converted vehicles so it would be very doable especialy using a dot approved fuel tank. you would have to stick with a conventional AC unit but you could use a propane powered generator to run it.

Couplers found at end of air hoses which attach to matching couplers on trailer.
