    Dynasys APU:Anyone have one??

Well I was expecting some negative reports because I can't say one good thing about the unit I have. When it is working properly, does not cool my 96" condo sleeper any cooler then high 70's in summertime heat during the day. In extremely hot days, lucky to get it below 80 degrees. The heater is...

Replacing Mercedes MB900 Engine in M2-106

Well, it appears the EGR cooler really was bad. Took load to south Texas and another to Mississippi and no apparent cooler loss, but now have pretty bad vibration in front end and APU issue.....it never ends.

Replacing Mercedes MB900 Engine in M2-106

Took the EGR cooler to big city DD/MB repair shop and had it pressure tested and it tested bad. Will have the new one I bought installed (discounted price of $1100) tomorrow and hopefully problem solved. Only thing is I won't know until we get back out on the big road next week.

Thanks "SpongeBob". Right now having loss of coolant issue. Not my first rodeo with this. So far shop cannot find the problem. Not showing any classic signs of EGR valve, EGR cooler issues or cracked head or head gasket.

Freightliner m2 tail lights out. On the road now

Had the same problem a while back. if you have the small rectangular lights hanging off a bracket it was the connector (plug) into the light. Unplug it, plug it back in and jiggle it some in the socket. eventually will have to replace the plug.

To spongebox, I would appreciate the info on the shop in Indiana. Do you know exactly what was done in the overhaul?

Replacing Mercedes MB900 Engine in M2-106

To usafk9, thought about long block because with 800,000+ miles figure turbo about shot, egr valve and cooler, well you know the issues there and new compressor.

Replacing Mercedes MB900 Engine in M2-106

Well for those that may be interested, was quoted by local Freightliner Dealer for Reman MB 900 engine, long block which includes EGR system, turbo and air compressor, $20,200 with core trade in. Of course this does not include install.

Replacing Mercedes MB900 Engine in M2-106

Thanks for ya'lls replys so far. in my 800,000 miles had numerous egr valves and coolers, also head gasket, but no stud issues. Engine still runs good, minimal oil consumption, egr valve again about a month ago but now drinking coolent again so probably another head gasket or cooler. And yes...

800,000 miles and on borrowed time. Too **** old (me) to even think about buying a new truck. Has anyone replaced an engine or even got pricing on doing it?
