I run with nations express now i got on avg 1.25 a mile plus there nicer and the tracking system is cheaper.don't get me wrong if i had a van i would run for con-way i talk to drivers they say there getting good miles.but couldn't afford to keep the straight truck there. i found a company i'm...
I worked for con-way as a team with a straight truck i ran more van loads then anything plus i got a couple of loads where we had to meet a van and transfor it over to the van good luck
I have the eaton 10 speed auto and didn't like it at first but you'll love it in the mountains and the bad traffic sometimes i wish i had a stick but i like the auto too plus you get a little better fuel millage like i said a little
i drive a straight truck now but i have a cargo van that i'm going to drive myself so i was wondering where i could get e tracks to put in my van my straight truck came with them i live in michigan i know you guys can help thanks
Glen,
we took everything, but the dispatchers where rude not all there where some nice ones we left three messages with the president mr Ed Conaway we had to pull out we where lossing money seamed more at the end if we bugged for long loads or any loads we sat longer
wow we ran a team and got only 2000 miles a week had enough there a joke and rude to you what a bad company we where running van loads in a tandam axle straight truck just to move i guess vans where getting alot of miles but i didn't want to put my van on with them.
RE: Converting a class 8 3 axle to a straight truc
making a class 8 into a straight truck is the way to go. the bigger engines get more miles then those smaller ones with out alot of more miles to the gallon. just my two cents lol
wow .77 a mile thats low i hated taking loads in the van for .90 a mile most of mine where 1.00 a mile and a few where .90 a mile i'm straight truck with teams now :+
wouldn't be better to have my company a corporation reather then a solo proprietor? so i could put my self on the payrole and pay my income tax and then get a W-2 at the end of the year
i meet a guy who drives for them he said he makes about 1000.00 a week on avg.they do run alot of auto parts sorry forgot to tell you he was in a van. he said he started with them in a mini van now he has a cargo van. he didn't talk bad about them just said there all right
I drive for an O/O there fair i didn't want to jump right into this business wanted to see how it was for a bit i will be buying my own van or straight truck soon but for now i'm happy like someone said i asked the company how many drivers quite on the O/O i do a 60/40 split.
