The Trump Card...

Iran Opens a New Front in the War

Emboldened by its success -- that's right, its success -- in its war against the US and Israel, Iran has opened a new front on which to do battle. It's the undersea fiber-optic cables that run along the floor of the Straight of Hormuz. Specifically, Iran said yesterday:

"Iran has the right to exercise its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, including over the fiber-optic cables laid in it."

In normal times, about $1-$2 billion worth of oil in tankers transit the Straight. Under water, through these cables, over $10 trillion in daily financial transactions flow; including high-frequency trading data, interbank transfers (SWIFT), and the backbone of cloud infrastructure for tech giants like Amazon, Microsoft, and AI hubs. These cables connect Asia, Africa, Europe, the Gulf States, India, Egypt, the UK, Japan, Hong Kong, and more.

With Trump utterly failing to open the Straight no matter what he tries or threatens, Iran is feeling its oats and asserting its power over these cables too.

Just as they are developing a system to charge tanker tolls, they're now talking about licensing fees, protection fees, maintenance monopoly, compliance with Iranian law, and other such mechanisms regarding these cables.

Iran has no right to assert such things, but empowered by a weak and clueless Trump, they feel free to do it anyway. And let's also remember that Trump had no right to attack Iran and thereby start this war. Trump has established the permission structure for Iran to press these claims. That permission structure did not exist before Trump started the war but it does now.

The problem behind all of this is Trump himself. He thinks he can defeat Iran with WW II tactics. Apply military force until your enemy succumbs. Iran is more clever. They have been preparing for decades to fight a 21st-Century war in which light force, applied with precision, produces asymmetric consequences.

Trump spends billions to bomb Iran in hopes of getting them to surrender. Iran spends a fraction of that and brings multiple nations to their economic knees. Trump is trying to fight a military war. Iran is fighting -- and winning -- a financial war.

PS. The three US Navy destroyers that were in the Straight before have fled after being targeted by Iranian missiles which were intercepted. The Straight remains functionally closed.

Trying to organize and keep up with all the absurd stupidity of Donald Trump and his administration is honestly exhausting.

We’ve totally won the Iran war — weeks ago — the Iranians are crushed!

Except, of course, we’re over 10 weeks into this, the Strait of Hormuz is still closed, and there doesn’t seem to be any end in sight.

The economy is doing better than it’s ever done. We're in a new golden age!

Except, of course, there’s not a single economic metric that’s better now than it was when he took office: job growth is massively down, deficits are up, inflation is rising, consumer confidence is at historic lows, GDP growth has slowed, and layoffs are increasing. In fact, 2025 was the worst year for layoffs since the pandemics.

Donald Trump wasn’t sleeping during a meeting at the White House, he was just blinking.

Except, of course, we can all clearly see he’s not blinking, as his eyes were closed for several seconds at a time, multiple times, which sure as hell wasn’t “blinking.”

The ballroom is a matter of national security because the president can’t be kept safe at public event spaces!

Except, of course, the past two weekends where Trump has traveled to two different golf courses — to attend large public golfing events — in two different states, and he was kept perfectly safe without a ballroom.

The president has nothing to do with the indictment of James Comey or the FCC’s attacks on Disney/ABC.

Except, of course, we already know Trump has ordered his past attorney general, Pam Bondi, to target his political enemies, and I’m sure it’s just a total coincidence that the FCC is going after the network that airs Jimmy Kimmel’s show just as this president has publicly called for him to be fired for making fun of him.

The lies reported by The Atlantic about Kash Patel’s drinking habits are totally fake news!

Except, of course, he’s having the FBI dig into the reporter who wrote the story trying to discover “leaks,” while he’s allegedly had over a dozen employees take polygraph tests — interesting decisions if everything that was reported was “totally fake.”

The list goes on and on. It’s just one line of stupidity after another, bullshlt that’s easily debunked by facts, logic, and even the slightest bit of common sense.

It’s why I’ve said for a while now: to be a supporter of Donald Trump nowadays, you have to be willfully ignorant, because it’s blatantly obvious just how full of crap he really is.

Such organized and spaced paragraphs. As if it were cut and pasted from something else.

Did you figure this out all by yourself? What was the tell? The fact that he led the post by saying "borrowed?" You repost other people's stuff all the time. What's the problem?

Inflation Update

These are the inflation numbers since Trump was elected to his second term. Notice how the war impacts are finding their way into the data.

It has been said by some that a temporary rise in gas prices is a small price to pay to keep Iran from having a nuclear weapon. The problem with that is it is no longer a temporary price or a small price. The war effects are now deeply rooted into the world economy and the roots grow deeper every day Trump keeps the US in this war.

The other problem is Iran has no nuclear weapon because its program was "obilterated" months ago with earlier strikes. Or, the problem is Trump lied about that and their nuclear program is still intact. But if that is the case, we're seeing the economy suffer while Iran's nuclear program remains fully intact. It actually seems both are true. Trump lied about obliterating the program the first time, and he is no closer to solving the problem than he was before he started the war. In the meantime, Americans continue to pay an increasingly large price.

The sad thing is Obama had an agreement in place of the sort Trump now seeks, and Trump tore that one up. Iranians correctly ask, why should they negotiate anything if Trump feels free to break agreements at will?

Borrowed from where? You know where my reposts come from, right? What’s the problem with providing the source?

Trump's China Visit Press Release Already Prepared

Citing unnamed sources not free to speak on the record, the Associated Press reported today the contents of the press release Trump staffers have prepared in advance of his upcoming meetings with China's president Xi.

President Trump Scores Major Victory in China Talks

After China President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump met, Chinese officials confirmed that Trump remained awake the entire time.

While Trump had been wired with a device that produces a mild electric shock, US aids did not need to press the remote-control button to administer one. Trump kept his eyes open through the entire two hour meeting, and further indicated he was functional by looking around the room and occasionally passing gas.

So we are finally in agreement that higher energy prices will affect the inflation rate. It took 4 years of Biden and a 2 and half month war for some to finally understand that higher gas prices creep into inflation. Good thing though the war is temporary and Biden’s regime had a systemic problem with with their “war” on oil that lasted 4 years.

Trump Now Refunding the Tariffs He Illegally Tried to Collect (Source)

Loser putz

P.S. In Trump's second term, the manufacturing sector jobs fell by 57,000. That's not a big decline but it's nothing close to the "golden age" and manufacturing jobs surge Trump has been promising.

Now stripped by the courts of the tariff power he never legitimately had, Trump stands with his hands empty and pants down.

Fun fact: Biden had 26 months of over 3.8 inflation in his 4 year regime.
I figured you'd mention Biden straightaway and you did. But so what? Biden is not running for reelection in the midterms.

Republicans are and Trump's military and economic actions hang like a dead animal around their necks.

Republicans are not urging Biden to right the ship. They're not getting shouted down at their town hall meetings because of Biden's numbers. They're trying to get reelected, and it is Trump's actions, not Biden's that are undermining those efforts.
