Tucker Carlson Cancelled - Gone From Fox News

It will be easy to compare ratings of the hour Carlson had with those of his successor(s), but that's not finances, that's ratings.
Agreed - and in TV land, ratings are everything.
Another question is how will Carlson do on whatever platform he joins or starts? While it is highly likely that he will resurface again after any no-compete contract obligations are fulfilled, we'll have to wait to see how well he does. It is noteworthy that every big name that parted with Fox and and surfaced elsewhere ended up with nowhere near the audience size and public influence they had at Fox.
When Chris Wallace and Megyn Kelly left Fox they didn't have near the ratings and audience size Carlson has now.
Fox Chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch certainly knew that when he weighed the pros and cons of firing Carlson. What does a guy with the largest audience on cable and the big advertising revenues he produced have to do to earn the surprise pink slip he earned?
Good question; maybe someday we'll find out. Right now it looks like a really bad decision by Fox management.

When Fox News kept Tucker after the 2020 Presidential election Arizona early call debacle, that kept many conservatives from completely abandoning them.

But letting go of the leading conservative voice at the pinnacle of his success will see a mass exodus unlikely to return.

It’s over and the final straw for Fox News as an alternative to the Left News echo chamber.

Megyn Kelly lost her popularity after the controversy with Trump at the debate. She left on her own terms and wasn’t popular at NBC because their audience caters to the Left.

Chris Wallace was very unpopular with many MAGA conservatives and seen as an anti Trumper. His abysmal debate moderator performance sealed his fate as one the most disliked personalities at Fox..

Tucker leaving the network is much different. Conservatives will walk away from Fox similar to what they’re doing with Budweiser and even Project Veritas where they forced out James Okeefe.
They’re nothing to them now.

I don't know if any former or current Fox personality had/has the ratings Carlson did. But it will be interesting to see if the dynamic is the same. Based on the history of Fox personalities who left, I think it is highly unlikely that wherever Carlson ends up, he'll have 3 million viewers again. He may surprise me. We'll see.

The fact that Tucker Carlson was investigating the January 6th video footage that Pelosi refused to release that told a completely different story.....we all thought it was 14,000 hours when it was in fact over 40,000 hours of unreleased video footage.
Funny that he is now silenced.....for now.

Fox Ratings Post-Carlson

Here's the ratings for the very short time Carlson has been gone from Fox:

"Ratings at Fox News have fallen after Tucker Carlson’s shock exit on Monday.

"On Monday night, Brian Kilmeade filled the top host’s spot and drew in an average of 2.6 million viewers and 294,000 in the key advertiser-coveted 25-54 demo, according to Nielsen Media Research seen by CNN.

"The Monday before that – 17 April – when Carlson held the primetime spot, the show drew in 3.2 million total viewers and 445,000 in the key advertiser-coveted 25-54 demo." (
Source)

A viewer drop from 3.2 million to 2.6 million is an 18.75 decrease. That means 81.25% of Carlson's viewers may have been Fox viewers more than Carlson viewers, since 81.25% of them chose to stay after Carlson left. The "coveted demographic" decrease is 33.71%

Again, this is a very short time. The sampling is too small to reliably support any conclusion. And the numbers will likely change if and when Carlson resurfaces in another venue.

For those who like to see things in terms of winners and losers, the present score is a double win for the Fox/Carlson critics.

1. Carlson is off the air.
2. Fox has lost viewers.

For Carlson fans, it is a loss.

1. Carlson is off the air.

For Carlson fans who want FOX to suffer, it may be a win or a loss, depending on your view.

1. It's a win if you like that FOX lost 18.75% of its viewers in that time slot.

2. It's a loss if you are looking for a mass exodus that would severely punish FOX. 81.25% of the viewers remain. An audience oif 2.6 million viewers is HUGE compared to most other cable TV shows. Yes it was bigger with Carlson in, but it was still big with Carlson out. Also note that Carlson lost a number of advertisers because they considered his views/statements/claims to be outrageous. With Carlson now gone, FOX can invite those advertisers back, and some may accept.

He’s already receiving multi million dollar offers. He has a no compete clause if he wants to continue to be paid by Fox News. 1.6 million per month. Look for him to take some time off and then take an offer he can’t refuse.

The January 6th committee edited the video footage a lot....even trying to make a Republican senator look like a coward running through the halls....and how they edited how the shaman acted.

Fox opinion programs with a conservative bias ARE balance, considering the programming content of the other cable news networks.
Tucker went on the air just three weeks after the election and had a whole monologue criticizing attorney Sidney Powell, who he had on as a guest previously.

You didn’t see that kind of criticism of guests on other “news” operations on the Left.
