Waiting Waiting Waiting

Cross Stitch that I made for our youngest daughter Brandy

While waiting for a load we make sure that we are actually available for a load. We double-check our status that we are in service and we are located where the computer thinks we are located.

Next is being proactive by either calling the company you are leased to or double-checking that you are sitting in a good area or if you would be better of moving to another location. With us after we verify we are in a pretty good location we make calls to various agents letting them know we are available for a load.

Once all of this has been done or we are sitting waiting to pickup a load we take care of other business. The truck is polished and the interior cleaned. Usually on weekends I do a lot of cooking so that we have left overs we can reheat during the week for a quick meal.

After the work is completed we both have our hobbies. Bob likes to play games on his IPad or watch movies. If there are other drivers around he likes to visit and learn more about other operations and about the driver. Often over the weekend there are large groups of drivers standing around visiting when the weather is good. I will look out of the window while Bob is polishing on our truck and often see several guys standing around giving advice, sharing stories, or asking Bob to come polish their truck next.

Cross Stich I am working on now and it will take me about ten years to finish.

When I relax I enjoy cross-stitch and listening to books on my phone. I listen to a lot of different books from self-help to novels. The only types of books I struggle listening to are murder mysteries and if the book is fluffy. Right now I am listening to the Clifton Chronicles by Jeffery Archer and also Talk Like TED by Carmine Gallo. My current counted cross-stitch picture is one that I estimate will take me ten years to finish. I am also working on a needlepoint Christmas stocking for our new son-in law.

While sitting can get tiresome when waiting to pickup a load or waiting to for a load we stay busy doing things we enjoy.
